The Hygiene Audit team are on cloud -nine after receiving the prestigious Health Innovation Hub award for innovative solutions with the potential to significantly impact Irish healthcare.
The growing, multi award winning team now have the opportunity to avail of the unique HIHI innovation pathway which will match the company with a clinical team and enable a pilot and validation study in a HSE setting. The award comes directly after Hygiene Audits received the European Health Headstart Award 2020 and associated funding prize of €40,000.
The software is already having huge success in private nursing homes as the solution addresses the sectors most pressing issue of hygiene oversight and compliance. Piloting in the HSE will enable Hygiene Audits to address the specific challenges HSE nursing homes face with infection control strategies and subsequently build a business case to fast track the adoption of the software. The goal is to ease admin burden and demonstrate compliance with HIQA national standards which in turn will reduce healthcare associated infections.

HIHI is a joint initiative of the Dept of Health and the Dept of Business Enterprise and Innovation. Their activity is strengthened through the support and engagement of Enterprise Ireland and the HSE. HIHI’s aim is to ensure the best Irish healthcare solutions are delivered to healthcare facilities and patients.
